Stories from Two Sorority Sisters at UConn
Write up on ServeUp from student leader, Heather:
"I can say with 100% certainty that it was the absolute best week of my entire life.
I convinced four of my sorority sisters to go on ServeUp and that it is the best way to spend spring break. My sisters opened up and we talked about deeper personal brokenness that we have faced in our lives and where we see God fitting into that picture, but also how we can fit into God's greater plans. I have been transformed by God's love and I wanted to share that with them; I wanted the same healing and fulfillment for them. At the end of the week we were able to make commitments for our return to campus and also for the rest of our lives. One of my friends had been skeptical about faith and God and at the end of the week she decided to commit to seeing what Christianity could look like for her and to continue learning back on campus. Two other group members decided to recommit to Jesus. I cried so many happy tears during the week because I saw God working in my sisters and felt His love pouring into them."
Write up from Heather's sorority sister, Celine:
"Going on Serve Up was one of the best decisions that I have made in my college career. I sit here thinking about that trip and wondering how one week can change me so much as a person. I really wasn’t sure what to expect and was quite nervous. But I can say now, I’m so happy that I did. There is nothing like the feeling of God's love that I experienced during ServeUp."
Heather and Celine are students and the University of Connecticut.
